    Just found out that Endler's have been described as Poecilia wingei by Poeser, Kempkes & Isbruecker. Don't have the paper yet but looking for it.

    wingei? that is not an apt name for this curious little livebearer. I'd rather see it named after Dr Endler.

    Curious, so I did a search on "winge".

    Looks like it is named after a well-known geneticist Olaf Winge, who did extensive genetic works on the guppy, Poecilia (Lebistes) reticulata.
