Shrimps trimming my riccia

Hi, have anyone encountered this before? The malayan and yamatoes shrimps in my tank are "uprooting" my riccia. The riccia were growing fine, covering the wire meshes and driftwood after 1 month when the shrimps decided to pluck them out [

] . Should i remove the shrimps?

I think the Riccia is able to sustain the growth even though the shripms are uprroting rite. The reason that they are doing that is prob due to insufficient food source (algae). Maybe you can juz let it be, you'll need them to control the algae growth.

Sometimes I wonder if the shrimp are eating or cleaning the riccia. Either way, its their plucking that cause the riccia to detach.

I think the shrimps were going 4 the yellow parts of the riccia that was blocked out. I was having the same problem too n decided not 2 maintain the riccia.
