Nothing eats bba even SAE is not effective(IMO). I used ceratophyllum demersum to suppress and to get rid of it. U have to be patient, the tank will be cleared of bba after 2 to 3 months. Remember to clean your filter too.
one method defintely will work... plant all stemmed plants or fast growers.. guarantee to clear yr BBA
reduce feeding.. me feed them twice daily.. ok.. fishes.. u are now on a diet...and i dun have much stem and fast growers... perhaps will give SAE a try.. once my bba is done, will try to catch them out to to starve them again.. hahaha...

i am, like the originator of this topic, combating BBA in my tank. Its now more or less under control. Try feeding a moderate amount every other day. Fishes do well with fasting, sorta clear their internals (or so i read/heard somewhere).
Not forgetting fast grower. A very useful plant would be H. Difformis. When BBA attaches to its leave, just clip it off and throw.

if that is the case, i have to clip a lot of my crypto leh..

I have that too.
How will water change help ? Thks.
These algae stinks when they grow in large amount .... doubt anything will really eat them ... rather eat the green and tender leaves than these black and tough stuff.
try barbs too. Rosy barbs work well actually. not bad lah.

barbs might nip at other fish.. try pencilfish..

imho, sae are really effective only in a dutch aquarium or initiatial phase where there are no other fish cos sae are very smart and will very soon adapt to fish food.
kekekeke, I only feed my fishes 5 times in 7 days. fasting is good for the soul, and encourages SAE to do their needful duties----------------

[] in my old 2ft tank which had bba, i took the above advises (change water, less feeding) and added in cherry barbs & pencilfish. until today still don't know who did the job...[]
P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.
anyone know where to get pencil fish and at a good price ?
only saw it before in rainbow ... maybe becoz they are the few who label and id the fish in english
was at C328 just now, didn't see any dwarf and 3-line, only got the one-line pencilfish.
BTW, this football craze is frightening, I was actually able to walk (as opposed to FIGHT) my way into c328 and stand in front of a tank for a good 3 minutes [:0] seems everyone has gone to the football betting stall further up
