    i've came across US websites where asians (esp singaporeans) are selling those medicinal leaves to the Americians and Europeans and are making alot out of it. are those leaves really good for the tank and what are those called? also i read that we can find it at the beaches in singapore however how do they look like ?

    are you referring to the ketapang leaf? Those leaf are used to stablise certain fishes, also good for softwater fishes like south amercian cichlids, rasbora, tetras. But might not be advisable for planted tanks, as it reduce light penetration. do a search on 'ketapang'

    Everywhere, do an image search for indian almond tree, they are the trees with big waxy leave, that reddens first under the leaf.

    if yyou are not sure about how to ID tree. try the macdonalds at east coast park. beach side is lined with these trees. they are the biggest leaves in a pear shape. KM8 at sentosa also has them. the leaves are are humongous!! the biggest i've ever seen so far...
