I always said, open your eyes big big when walking on the streets. Look what I found in a plastic bag on a bench right along the busy streets of Siam Square Bangkok, just outside the famous Bhan Khun Mae restaurant!

A rare Cyclocheilichthys heteronema, which is a unique barb whose barbels are branched like a road sweeper. Apparently this fish only swims to the shallow parts when it can be caught for around 2 months out of a whole year!

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

I have been to Siam Square so many times and never seen any fishes except cooked ones!!

But me and Mr. Tree have seen Azmi on the benches at Siam Square fishing. Must go and find pictures.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
