    Nomorhamphus liemi a halfbeak from Sulawesi, I think this is a female.

    i think your right on saying it's a female choy, at first i thought it was a male but looking at it's ventral fins i changed my mind.

    since it is a livebearer shouldn't we be looking at the anal fins?

    i agree with you but all the pics ive got the males have larger and more pointed ventral fins also the have colour in them in the males,
    i can't make out in your pic has the anal got a notch before the soft rays?

    can't really tell that's why I am quite confused. there seem to be something but it is very small!
