Earth Day Learn about Forest Restoration Walk
with Shawn Lum and Plant Group. Meet 9.45am SBG Visitor Centre.
Visit a primary forest that has suffered a bit over the years. We will ask ourselves: "How does one know what forests are good candidates for restoration? How might restoration be carried out?"
Meet 9.45am at SBG Visitor Centre.
Earth Day Butterfly Walk – with Butterfly Interest Group.
Meet 9.45am SBG Visitor Centre
Both Plant and Butterfly walks culminate with seed planting of butterfly attracting plants, followed by Picnic Lunch.

Kids’ Earth Day Fun with Seeds - with Education Group.
Have fun with all kinds of fascinating seeds, big and small! In what games are seeds used? What plant comes from which seed? Each kid will get to plant a living seed for Earth Day, which will be transplanted to a butterfly garden later. Bring the whole family for this meaningful day and enjoy a fun picnic at the gardens (do bring your own mats & makan)!

A joint Reuse Project by Nature’s Niche (SBG giftshop) and NSS
Sale outside shop. Buyers will receive free Earth Day postcards.
Proceeds from sale of books will go to NSS. Give your old books a new lease of life. Bring them on day itself. Coordinator - NSS office.
Also happening at 2nd Hand Nature Books Sale:
Launch of Earth Day Postcard - A Cherish Nature Project by Education and Vertebrate Study Groups of the Nature Society. The postcards for general distribution aim to increase awareness of our vulnerable native species, and the need to cherish and protect their habitats.

Earth Day Birdwatching - with Tai Ping Ling & Bird Group.
Meet at SBG Visitor Centre for this evening walk. Join in this evening walk through one of the best botanical gardens in the world. Many species of birds make this place their home and we may have a chance of spotting colourful species like Long-tailed Parakeet, Blue-crowned Hanging-Parrot, Crimson Sunbird, Banded Woodpecker, Common Iora and Stork- billed Kingfisher. All are welcome.

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
