Found this good read at AGA site.

    http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/elatine.html

Interesting it also mentioned some details of the locally famous APP (Elatine trianda).

BTW the use of the term "APP" (Ah Pek's Plant) was first started in another local forum (Auqarealms) many years back as the tribute to an old Tampines fishfarm run by an old man who cultivate it. The plant was later suggested could be E. trianda. Good to see a confirmation from the AGA article validating the ID of the APP.

APP has been confirmed as Elatine triandra long ago.

I would think one of the factor that helps Elatine triandra gain popularity over the world might be the award winning tank of one of our member Jacian back in 2001.

Yes, now I remembered Jacian was the one who showcased the APP in his tank pics. He later ran a website and selling APP too. Wonder how's he doing how.

I wonder if anyone has actually tried growing Elatine gussonei? It looks most apt for nano tanks....
