They do look like snail eggs to me...but that's ALOT!
Hi,
Please help me with that... I notice this on the tip of most of my hairgrass... To me, they seem to be like eggs laid by snails... Am I correct, I hope not!
Indeed, there are some snails in my tank, but given the quantity of white stuff on my hairgrass, maybe they are not all eggs...
I noticed that when I cut some of my hairgrass (particularly the tall ones)..
They are nowhere to be found on the other plants (anubia nana, java fern and spiky moss)
Comments and suggestions most welcomed!
Regards,
Christophe

Yes a lot of snail eggs, but it could be worse eg BBA algea
Can't be algae, looks more like snail eggs to me.
Remove!
Hmm okay, but this has been there for like a couple of days...maybe 5-6 days.so i was thinking that if they were snails eggs, they would hatch or at east be darker..u know..going to hatch...but they stay the same shape and color..so i am not sure...So are they gonna hatch soon?.. OMG..Can't this be like a sort of gel that has been secreted...i dunno...just asking...
What do I do? cut all the leaves and suck them out of the tank? Or just get all the hairgrass replaced? Or wait for them to hatch and .... throw the tank away
Just give the hairgrass a good haircut say down to 1-2cm. Unless you are always overfeeding, the snail population shouldn't bloom.

Noted! Will cut the hairgrass soon...I will keep the " eggs" in another container though to see if they are really snails eggs...Will update!
Hmm, overfeeding, a bit only... it's my shrimps and micro rasboras tank... currently about 30+ malayan and 4 micro rasboras+1 otto and unwanted snails.
What kind of snails do u have there? Corn type? Corns are nice though

I have the unwanted types (to me at least)...did not buyl..came with the plants when I bought.. might post a pic when i am free
when i have snails, i noticed that the puffer, clown loach, and ram, have been very effective for me. You might want to give that a try intsead of chemicals?
Snail eggs, lots of them in my lotus pot. If I'm not wrong these are the flat-type, looks more like a mini-dougnut. Puffer is very good at cleaning them up.
It should hatch by now, if they don't then the male probably has sperm deficiency.
No hatching...
Hmm puffer, i do not trust that fish. anyway, i cannot put a puffer since i am keeping shrimps (mostly), micro rasboras and 1 otto. the puffer will make such a mess with these gently species.
I am monitoring the development, i am even thinking of substituting the hairgrass with spiky moss
Puffer is not that destructive. Get the golden-color small species. I have shrimps too, and my puffer (only 1) don't bother them at all. If you don't trust this fish, remove it once your tank is rid of snails.
The small puffers alanyeo is refering to is the dwarf puffer. Small buggers about 1cm long. Have one and so far does not bother my Yamatos. Not that my Yamatos are worried because these shrimps are gangsters!
Psst...beware of the armless swordsman!

never ever put puffers with slow-swimming fishes like guppies! I've learnt the hard way of removing snails with them
