wow, interesting plant, where did you get it?
how big they are? in terms of size and can it be grown as foreground aka E.Tenellus?
pictures of what i hope are griffithii and it's erm.. whatever you call a "child" plant. Here's what i know:
Did not melt
Propagates with runners
Found in thickly forested part of the river
Leaves are veiny,
Leaves are short and fat, more round
Underside of the leaves is red
roots are also red

interesting plant. Have never seen it before. How long has it been in your tank?
Keep that location secret please. It shouldn't even be touched in the first place, imho
How come the specimen in the first picture looks so spindly?

I found it in a feeder bag! really! when i was buying frogs for my badis island fish...
Anyway, i've obviously confused some people. No, it's nothing like tenellus. I'm hoping it's Cryptocoryne griffithii The two pictures are of the same plant. Upper one is a new shoot emerging out of the substrate about 10cm from the parent plant in the lower picture.
From second picture, the plant does look like C. griffithii.
I have 2 of them in my tank. But at any one time they have no more than 3 leaves intact . They have been in my tank for > 1 year already.
For those who are interested, they are sometimes available at Teo's. I got mine there.
BC
I think it is C Blassi.
Cheers!
I see.. well then if you do have a spare plant try growing them emersed if you really want to find out what it is. No way you can tell just like that especially if it is of griffithi complex.
