Version 2 is now ready for download!

What is new in this revision
    - pH can now be selected in 0.1 steps
    - Good CO2 level is targeted at 10-25ppm

I could not upload the original .zip file so I had to rename it to CO2Chart.txt. You need to download and rename the .txt to .zip to unzip the file.

    Hi,

Just completed a java midlet for displaying CO2 level by selecting KH and PH level for mobile phone.

I am using Motorola E398. If you are using a java enabled phone with a smaller screen, the display may not be nice!

Note: the screen shot was captured from an emulator, the actual screen is much nicer on newer phone model.

Feel free to install and use.

    Best regards,
    Chris

    Updates:
Updated the chart base on the formula
    CO2 ppm = 3 x KH x 10^(7-PH)

I don't think you can simply IR to your phone as a file.

You have to find out how to install java application to your phone model from your phone manufacturer. Normally using data cable or GPRS, I think you can install using IR for Nokia phones if I am not wrong.

Any Sony Ericsson expert out there that can help?

Anybody can suggest a hosting site that I can upload to so that people can install using WAP?

It works via bluetooth to my K700i. I do find the program limited but heck its on a phone. Oh, 24ppm isn't high at all...the very high CO2 comment came up for some reason.

Hi Peter, thank you for the feedback!

I just converted the chart I got off from this forum without looking at the values carefully. I guess there are many versions around. Any pointer to where I can get the most accurate chart?

I will update the chart and repost again.

The chart I used for the program.

How to key in the figures?

Eg if my pH is 6.9, I can get the bars to read pH 6.8 or pH 7. is there any in between setting?

Thanks for taking the trouble to make this app.
    Warm regards,

    Lawrence Lee

I am so suprise to see this thread being brought up again I am really glad that some of you had found it useful!

Sorry Lawrence, this program is design to provide a rough estimation of CO2 level only. Furthermore, most of the test kits can only provide an accuracy of 0.2 only. Are you able to measure pH down to 0.1 level?

Let me know if you really need such precise measurement, I will see what I can do if I have the time.

I'm not too good with electronic devices, and it's my first time uploading anything into my phone so I thought there must be a certain key I'm supposed to use on my phone since I can't get the pH on my phone to read 6.9.

pH pens can read in increments 0.1 of a pH. With lower kH, 0.2 of a pH might be a small difference in CO2 levels, but with higher kH (eg 8 degrees) the difference can be a lot. It'll be excellent if you will be able to give a finer reading for pH.

    Thanks.

I can't find my source code . So got to re-write the program again...

Can someone provide me with a better chart than the one above? I need it as a reference to comment on the CO2 level. Too high, too low or just right.

Erm, does this program work for PDA phones as well? Like the O2 Atom (WM5 platform)

Hi Grey_fox, how is your tank doing

I am not sure if it will work on PDA phones. The midlet is design to run in devices that support CLDC 1.0 and MIDP 1.0. If your device support these 2 technologies then I don't think it should be a problem.
