you can keep them in the fridge.
i have just tried this and it works.
so far have them in there for four days.
lower temparature slows their metabolic rate hence oxygen consumption.

In the fridge? thats interesting, but have to warn family members.

I had a bag of brime shrimp, used the same water it came with, and just left them in a small container. They lasted for about 3-4 days but on the 3rd or 4th day, can already see a large quantity of them dead on the bottom. I might consider getting a sealed container, so i can keep them in the fridge.

basically, they "concuss" while in the fridge (i.e. look dead or no activity).
however, once you rinse them and place them in the tank they revive and start swimming.
i have mine tied back in the same plastic bag and water.
you may try putting them in a plastic container like the "tau huay" tubs.
makes it easier to get them and keep too.
so far, as mentioned earlier, they have lasted for four days.
will keep you all posted on the "expire" time.

i'm now thinking of some way to "enrich" them before placing them in the fridge.
i have put up a thread asking for someone who has done this.
but most seem to just use newly hatched brine shrimp.

keeping them in the fridge is quite safe.
i wrap mine in a white plastic bag to keep the shock factor down...
i believe any casualties are those that have died in the bag before i got home and not from the lowering of the temparature.
