do u have any driftwood in there? driftwood tend to stain the water
I've set up 1 feet tank last wednesday, the tank equipment i used was the box filter, 1-2mm gravel and stick on thermometer.I applied the anti-chlorine solution and let the filter run.The temperature in the tank is about 29 degree. After two days, the water in the tank started to turn brownish in colour.I could see some small particles suspended in the water.Could someone tell, whether this particles is bacteria.Bacteria will form in the tank by themselves or you've to add them into the tank? Also, the brownish water could be due to the iron which was rusty inside the box filter, well i am not too sure. What usually happen when the tank is newly set up?

No.I just have the box filter and gravel inside the tank.I am not sure whether i should change the water or not.

hmmmmm... wat gravel? used filter?
"iron which was rusty inside the box filter" - this sentence, if i read correctly, sounds worrying.
you mean there's something rusty somewhere?[:0]
P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.
ok,The gravel I used is the medium and rounded gravel which about 1cm in length. What i can tell you is that the corner box filter and gravel used before but i did washed it before. The gravel i think i washed with clean water but the box filter i've washed with the aquarium water.
rust in the box filter implies iron in the box filter
iron in the filter implies that iron (III) will eventually make it's way into the water
this could be causing the brown colouration
Dea, i agree with you.I think most probably due to the rusty iron. The Iron was coated with something before it turned rusty.Ok, i think i will do something about my box filter. Thanks guy/girl!
