    Hi , I like to know where can I get replacements for Juwel tanks accessories. One of the lights is down. I think the balast is gone. Me not electrically sure how to replace it myself.

    benetay.. u studying EE to learn how to self-repair the electrial stuff for your aquarium?? hahaha.. next time dun have to bring to chan already.. just bring them to u.. hahaha[]

    It's not difficult to do the lights yurself.

    1. Check which part is faulty first. Start with the tube. Replace it with any tube you have (must be the same size). Chances are tube fail first.

    2. Check starter, replace with a confirmed working one.

    3. If still not working, then open up to see any broken or loose connections.

    4. Confirm ballast is faulty by using a multi meter. Put it at ohm for continuity check. It should read very low (around 1~4 ohms).

    To replace faulty part (e.g. ballast) bring the item to the shop and purchase the same. No need to be the same brand, just make sure the specifications are the same. Sounds easy enuf?

    Note: Disconnect power when doing any connections or replacements of parts.

    Yes i have replaced with the working light and it still does not work. I think it must be the balast. I will try to work on the advice you have given. Hope for the best.

    just like house lights.

    tube first
    then starter.
    ballast like never fails..
