Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.
i think so......
oh oh, where did i go wrong in attaching the pic? somebody help please...
Of course the fish is from tanganyika lake of africa. It is the one of the two only residential tilapias in Tanganyika. Other tilapias are mostly introduced.
Oreochromis are actually tilapias. Therefore the one we eat in restuarants are O. mozambique crosses.
Actually for some strange reasons, I cannot see why the tilapia family have never really been popular aquarium fishes. They have dwarfs too. And the family actually contain some really colourful members. O. Tanganyicae being one of them. The fully grown male of this fish is blue with lots of yelow spots and is truly striking when it is 45 cm long.
I am sent a mail to look for this fish. But they are never popular so changes are not good.
But we never know.
