Where to get this model spare parts?
Hey wcneo..I guess your kick in and rest time should be normal and the ideal one..so no worries there I guess..
I happen to come across the manual online when I was searching for information about resun chillers too..and I hope it can help all the other bros who needs this manual..
Can just save the pdf and read at your leisure!

What I Get From AQ, i Return Back To AQ
Hi Chiller experts,
Need help here. I had bought a second hand chiller Resun CL450 and i hooked up to my 2x 1 feet cube tank with a 1200L/hr filter canister.
I set my chiller to a temp of 25 degrees and after it had chilled to 25 degrees, the chiller light is turn off. But my chiller keep on chilling to reach below my set temp of 25 deg displaying 18 deg with the external heater light turns on. PLease advice on what had happened as my tank is has a water temp to 18 deg.
The temp controller may be broken. Is it the original temperature controller? Do you have the manual?

Are you referring to the temp controller that enable me to set the temperature? I can be able to set the temperature and yes it is the original temperature controller.
i do have the manual download from this thread but doesn't say much on my problem.
Yes- it is failing to cut off after the desired temp has been reached. Double check the settings and if all fails cart it off to an LFS that can help you. Call beforehand before you do that.
The original temp controller from Resun doesn't have much functions.
It's default to 2ºC difference from what you set. If you set to 25ºC, it will kick in till it reaches that and then stop. Once the temp increases to 27ºC, it will kick in again.
To calibrate-
Press set for 10 seconds and CA pops up. This allows you to calibrate what temp the chiller is detecting and you have to measure your tank independently to find out if they match.
I don't think this is the cause though. Because it will not go 'out' by 7ºC.

faulty thermostat. looks like you need to repair.
Alright. Thanks everyone.
Does space constraint makes the chiller to keep on chilling?
The distance between My chiller and the wall is about 10cm space.
It shouldn't be placed in a way that heat transfer into the ambient atmosphere is blocked.
I figure that it could affect the thermostat sensor since it could keep the area the sensor is placed overheated therefore making the chiller "hit the gas pedal" into cooling more than needed be. Consider ventilating the area and see if that corrects the problem.

10 cm is quite narrow, a good chance of overheating, you need to get a fan to blow the hot air away from behind. minimum distance as per manufacturer is 20cm.
Thanks everyone again for your feedback.
Problem solved with the help of a chiller technician.
Sure.
Resun information got from the chiller technician. if the chiller display an 'E' means your thermostat is faulty.
For my case where the chiller did not cut off after the set temperature, it is due to a faulty circuit board.
Hope this helps those who are newbies to chiller like me.
Hi,
Newbie here (planning for freshwater planted) so be patient... got an Eheim 2217 and a Resun CL650 chiller.
Tank is 5ftx2ftx2ft so approx 560 litres - (did not less the substrate and glass thickness volumes)
Question 1: Technical info for the CL650 says pump outflow at 1800l/h - wow! Eheim 2217 claims a flow rate about 1000l/hr although realistically I doubt much more than 800l/h ?? or less - media/debris etc
My temp target is 27 Celsius. The CL650 manual states that for 22 Degrees the recommended tank size is <650 litres and for 27 Degrees the recommended tank size is <1000gal.
Is my equipment matched or not - and if not what can I do.
Question 2: I am in PJ, Malaysia and whilst the overall consensus is to modify chiller thermostat to take temp from tank (install an external thermostat on chiller and disable the original thermostat)..where can I do this in KL/PJ. Appreciate a specific recommendation of a shop to retrofit thermostat etc if possible
Question 3: Connection sequence
Eheim 2217 filter out --chiller input--output--tank?
I have another older Eheim Professional that I will just use as a filter and not connected to chiller - flow rate rating is 760l/h. So without having to go out an buy a higher rated filter or a pump - can this work?
Thanks very much for any help!
cheers
Bro bayrowser, I was looking at the similar setup as yours but mine is just a 2 feet tank. The concern that I have is the same with canister output at 1000 and manual stated for cl650 require 1500. Was thinking in the event I purchase the cl650, do I need to buy additional pump for it?
Hi Darren,
I thin for your 2 ft tank your current match of 1000 for the Cl650 should be fine.
My solution was to get an Eheim Compact Plus Pump 3000 for approx RM250 at my LFS. It works like a charm. Basically you can use it in the tank or externally, and it moves the water fast - rating is per the model number 2000, 3000 or 5000 lit/hr. Originally I used a power head to feed the CL650 but it was too noisy. The Eheim is SILENT and the throughput great. Highly recommended. However, given your small tank I feel your current setup should work fine.
