I got a 36W PL Light only on my 1ft tank.
    No CO2 and Base Fert.
    It's a barely moss tank.

Can I add Liquid Fert without CO2?

    36W for a 1 feet tank???

How long has your tank been setup? No algae problems?

Without CO2 and adequate nutrients, the balance is thown out of the window.

If you wish to go easy, switch to a much lower wattage, maybe 11W if you are not sure on using fert and CO2

Knowing what plants to get and how to use them is an art.

Actually I put the lighting higher on the tank.
    So far no algae problem.
If strong light with no CO2 and fert, what would happen?

you will soon experience algae problem. Especially hair algae, it's really going to tear your hairs off. 36 watts? You are having quite a high WPG especially since you're only growing moss.
I forsee big problem ahead. (judging from my own experience before)

Mosses prefer clean clear water, good light and cool temperatures.

I got a fan running 24/7, able to cool down 1-2 degree.

    The 36w e-ballast won't burn 18w pl tube?

u can try, if burn the most just a tube not your home..hahaha just kidding.

Is electric ballast mah... the IC and motherboard design to output max 36w so all wattage lower than that sure can support. I guess one of the topic in this forum did discuss before ... someway happen in Malaysia.

I'm using Florapride too. How much does you dose for your tank and how often? I just started a 2ft moss tank.

    RIP 1 x adolfoi, 1 x albino aeneus & 2 x panda

In my experience, moss grow very well & beautifully in cold temp.
No need base fert at all.
Liquid fert & CO2 will make them grow fast, but in order to avoid algae bloom, I suggest only very little fert.
And high light is an absolute NO
You will really sorry if you use high light in your moss only tank, trust me...

Oh, one more thing, don't forget to keep shrimps like cherries or CRS to keep your moss clean & green...

Erm, maybe you'll like to elaborate on the following.

but in order to avoid algae bloom, I suggest only very little fert.

I believe quite a number of the members here are heavily dosing their tanks with ferts and have high powered lighting, would like to get a more detailed explanation and understanding to your statements.

I use 72W lights for my 2ft tank. For fertilizers I dose less than half of suggested in the instructions.

Erm, ok but still does not explain your theory behind not having high lights or high dosage of ferts.

So have you tried with 144W of light and a full dosage of ferts before?
