is there a hard coral located nearby?? coz hard corals will sting each other to get space..[:]
Oh no! Something's wrong with my hammer coral - instead of being a sparkling white/green colour, one of the heads have turned slightly brown, and upon closer inspection, some of the other heads also have specks of brown! Is this the dreaded brown jelly infection? Any suggestions as to what to do?
Worried sick,

No leh ... it's got a huge space around it - somemore Euphillia has one of the strongest stings for corals, probably only losing out to bubble coral, which is on the opposite end of the tank. Will watch and see - if it starts to rot I'll just have to dump the poor thing out. Sigh ..
wats ur temp n how much lighting izzit receiving?
Acroporids and Tridacnids
hong yee..
it could be receiving too much lights that it get 'burnt' or the water temp might be too hot for it..

Aiyah, checked out an article online bout corals changing colour, the guy suggested it might be due to a change in amounts of zooxanthellae in the coral. So far it's doing OK, just that one of the heads isn't happy at all .. doesn't expand as much as the others!
Also, this morning when the lights came on, I noticed a huge swarm of creatures hovering at the top of the water column. Probably some crab larvae I think, since my tank is infested with crabs! Totally cool, but after a few hours the larvae dispersed (some probably got churned up in the protein skimmer) and I noticed my clownfish pair getting REALLY fat. Hmm .. not bad eh? Free food.
Bawater, paiseh, couldn't get to your place to take the LR, but I'm glad kelvin (the other one?) got it - dun waste good rock!
Regards,
Hong Yee
