    Need soem conversion to change it to Planted.

    But i never had a planted more than 3ft.
    Just need to know How much light is usually required for a tank this sheer size?

    Usually follows the WPG guideline:
    Less/densely planted: 1~2++wpg
    Heavy/thickly planted: 3++wpg

    Of course it depends on the plants that you are using. Certain plants requires very high light(mostly highly-colored stem plants), while anubias/crypts/moss/ferns does not require much of a lighting.

    Looking at the 2.5ft height, you may like to consider MH as it is able to penetrate into the depth of the tank. T5HO is another options you might wanna consider, but I doubt there are 6ft T5HO tubes around.

    There are "clip on" MH in the market nowadays. There are also MH with stands.

    You may consider these options if false ceiling installation is a problem.

    Notebook: I did a search and found you asked a similar question 3 years ago regarding a 5ft tank. See Amount of lighting for a 5FT

    My feedback is the same as in that thread. Cheers!

    Oopps... some of the members here have memories like elephants'

    Notebook: Does your tank have a cross brace in the center? If it does, then you don't really need to find 6 ft T5HO. I also have a 2.5ft deep tank (5x2x2.5), right now I am using 4 x 55w PL lights, and my plants are doing fine (to me at least)... but I am keeping crypts only, which aren't really that light hungry. So you really have to consider the type of plants you intend to keep before deciding on what type of lighting to get.
