... err... I don't dream about water parameters.
I simply use water out of the tap... add a pinch of KNO3... that's about it.

It is not so much about experience... there is no one set of "ideal" water parameter. Plants/critters adapt to conditions... just learn their needs and provide them.

Watch the plants, they are more important as a rule.
SG water is pretty good over all, this group can tell you what specific issue they have in SG and what works well.
CO2 is perhaps the most testy issue and parameter.
95% of all algae/plant growth related issues are CO2 related.
