Hi,
What do you think is the optimun number of the three main algae eaters in a planted aquarium?. Otos, SAE, Caridina japonica. Lets say... every 100 liters.
Thanx from Spain!.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
david onces had 100 in his 4ft.. exactly number of yamato for a 6ft shld be 140.. kekekeeee
This is exactly the same question I wanted to ask. Chance upon juggler website and he has got loads of aglae eaters. Is there a rule of thumb that we can apply? Don't want to have too many taking up valuable real estate but at the same time enought to do the job.
Cheers,
Roy
for my 175 litre, I started with 4 otos, 4 SAEs and 20 yamatos. Did a good enough job.
If I put 140 Yamatos in my 6 foot tank, I think my arowana will have a shrimp feast!!! []
Did some calculations... 140 shrimps in a 6'x2'x2' tank is only 1 shrimp per 12 square inches of the base area. Sounded like a lot at first, but from this perspective not so much.

I never had a yamato for a long long time.. since my discus, altums, congo tetra and apisto started feasting on them
there isnt standard to follow, its good to have diff algae eaters in the tank
