Hi, just thought that apart from the different colours/markings of our plecos, maybe we can also share the different characters that we know of or notice. Of course lah, should leave more space for more experience keepers like Allen & Hitman...[]

Some of these info are from books:

    - SNOWBALL PLECOS: after observing and later having spoken with Allen, I realized that they may create chaos with the gravel. Mine was digging away at my tank's gravel and even managed to make wavy "patterns" when the tank was not heavily planted. Now things are more calm, though.

    - ANCISTRUS & PECKOLTIA sp: are species that stay relatively small.

    - ZEBRA PLECO (L046): are omni and not algae eaters.

    - BARYANCISTRUS sp: prefer more of a "social life".
are very gregarious especially as young fish.

    - COCHLIODON, HYPANCISTRUS & PANAQUE: live relatively peaceful together, even at old age.

    - L-114 PSEUDACANTHICUS cf LEOPARDUS: a very quarrelsome loricariid.

Will update as and when I come up with something else...

How about you guys & gals who keep plecos?
    P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

    Do Plecos school?

I have 3 orange colour ones which I bought from the LH shop downstairs, when I started putting them together, they like to stay around each other and scrub agae together. Wonder if this is natural or due to the LH's aggressiveness they have to stick together or rather all forced to one corner by the LH.
