I'm just starting a 2ft planted tank using DIY CO2. The problem is the PH when measured with the electronic type of PH meter reads 5.0!!! while the test kit (5 in 1 type, tetra test) reads 7 and the KH is 15!!!... Now I am wondering whether it is safe to put any fish in the later stage after a month or so cos i am scare of killing the fishes.. (I live in Queenstown area)
Does anybody here use DIY CO2 with planted tanks and have fish thriving in the tank?
I would appreciate any advice and help given...thanks in advance

PH is 7.0 before injection of DIY CO2 (By the electronic PH meter, feel that it is more accurate)
    Test kit confirmed not expired....

I have pH solution tester that mess up after using a month.
I guess once opened, expiry is no longer meaningful.

As for Electronic type ... I am clueless. But I can't assume.

the prob is did u calibrate the PH test pen properly? as for the tetra test kit, its more of a general test, but I wouldnt bet on it.. its better to get individual testers for each element u need
