I've had my Harlequin rasboras and neontetras for a while now and I keep them with green tiger barbs a long fin cory and two black skirt teras..
For a while the harlequins and neons where always the first to eat, they always seemed so eager. but recently I've noticed that they don't seem to care anymore, I havent seen the neons eat but they seem fine, The harlequins however are starting to get thinner.. whats wrong with them?

How often do you change the water in your tank?

i do an approx. 20% water change everytwo weeks.. i also replenish about everyother day the amount of water that has evaporated.. I have four of them and earlier today three of them actually ate bit but one is thinning really fast and seems to have an injury or growth on its jaw.

Could the green tiger barbs be the problem, they are pretty aggressive fish

How many of each type of fish do you keep? And how big is the tank?

I currently keep cardinals, rummynoses, embers, harlequins and tiger barbs together in a 4ft tank and they are all actively eating...

20 gallons is not a big tank, but then I don't think it is the problem. My harlequins are always greedy and first to the food as they swim on the top level. I might suspect a number problem again. 3 tigers seems fine, but observe them longer... They might be bullying outside the small group. 4 is also a small number when it comes to harlequins. I would suspect the black skirts. They are actually rather agressive fish and 2 is a bad number for schoolers. They will very likely resort to bullying others... Observe the fish and look out for unruly behaviour amongst them.

I'd recommend you get 3 more green barbs. What's the temperature like over there? Try to keep it between 24 - 28 degrees celcius

    Recommended pH: 6 - 7
    Recommended kH: 2 - 5

Oh yes! I totally forgotten about the temperature as I had assumed you were local... A cooler water temperature might cause some fish to go off feeding...
