    hello to all Plecorymaniacs,

i just bought a small school of 6 corydoras pygmaeus. they're big for their size but they're doing quite well in my community tank. i was just wondering if anyone here can give me extra info about the pygmy cory. damn cute lil' buggers. i used to have one skunk, one sterba, one panda, one bronze and several habrosus cats living in the same tank but one by one they all disappeared. strange eh, but this time round, the pygmies are doing just fine. i'm wondering more bout their diet. i'm looking for an alternative to tubifex worms and bloodworms. any suggestions? info and help greatly appreciated.

    regards, [] []

    stormhawk,

My red-tailed corys chow down on anything and everything that throw at them - floating Sera flakes, sinking TetraBits, frozen blood worm and, recently, frozen beef heart. Now that's what I call variety or is it!?

    Cheers,
    Roy

Mine eat almost anything. Algae wafer, tetra bits, hikari carnivore, frozen blood worms and those that stay in the same tank with my discus gets extra big because they eat beef heart.

Since we're on this topic..Does anyone know why each time I added in a batch of C pygmaeus (6), there would be 2-3 losses? Considering the proper acclimisation, water parameters/quality, are performed correctly? I could never understand - just like the initial introduction of otos - always suffer 20-30% losses! After the initial stage (1-2 weeks), the fish number stabilises.

Guess you were right...the most recent batch I've added were from c328. I had to scoop the fish from a small betta container with the crowd of people squeezing to get pass me. I certainly did not scrutinise well enough when buying.
