Holes on Lotus leaves

I noticed that there are quite a few holes on my lotus leaves. What could be the cause of it?

Usually related to NO3. Do you have any fast growing plants? Look at them, are they paler than normal? and the older leaves dies at a quicker If so, it should NO3 issue.

can try putting nitrate balls in the soil for the plant. make sure the balls are near the plant. once the roots get hold of the balls then steady liao!

Holes on lotus usually related to not enough mineral such as Potassium, Magnesium or Calcium.
Try adding Seachem Equilibrium.

Why guess? All you need to do is to dose and rule things out. Many times, it can be multiple deficiencies going on rather than a single nutrient.

Unless you are willing to spend quite a bit on high quality test kits and calibrate them properly before each test, you are unlikely to get good info on what is happening. I work with quite a bit of test equipments ($10,000++ or more) at work and they also require proper and regular calibration to give you proper info. Some parameters are almost impossible to test properly say K+ which is really more of a turbidity test.

Lotus are quite heavy root feeders. If other plants do not show the same symptom, can try pushing a piece of fertiliser stick at its base. Most kinds should work: Root Monsters, Horti or Jobe Plant Sticks, etc...

Take it easy, Peter, it's just a hobby afer all !
Folks see some symptom, ask around on the web, some guys say I had seen this too and for my case it fixed by doing so and so, and the other folk say great let me try,... that's about it. Not every time we need to bring out the whole wagon of "don't tell me you can this or that with your hobby grade test kit..." We all know its just a hobby.
Throw in a teaspoon of Seachem Eq or stick a few moster root and see whats going on. If it works, great, if not then try something else... worst case buy another pot of lotus plant and try again.
