After Metronidazole

Hi I have some Discus with white poo.Have treated with Met. at 500mg/40litres ,repeated twice daily for 5 days .There has been some improvement but not a complete cure.2 fish are still very shy and not eating much.Can anyone suggest further treatment please.Could this be Cryptobia? Thanks Alan

read somewhere the temperature must be high at 32 to 34 C.
the treatment must also continue as the parasite cycle has started.
the medication will kill adults but the cyst/eggs are unharmed.
cycle is about 20 days? (you might want to check on this)
however, once your discus poops properly the dosage should be lowered.

btw mine never ate till after the white went away.

do check to confirm as i have not used Met before. (no access to it)
i have used Sera Baktopur Direct tablets with good results though.
full dosage repeated twice (discus was still giving white poo) time about one week.
then continued at half dose for 2 weeks.
so far so good....
