It's quite contagious. I normally use Tetra's Finrot treatment (careful with this, I think it might knock out your beneficial bacteria) and Interpet's anti fungus and finrot.
Both worked well for bettas ( tetra's is better).
Salt didn't really helped much
i used interpet anti fungus and finrot.. it had managed to curb the disease.. []

fwiw, the only time i ever had fish with finrot was when i just started out
with a good filter, water change regime, PLANTS, you should not be seeing finrot at all
what're your water parameters? how often do you do a change?
