It sure is difficult but you can try this... You can try injecting Excel or salt water, using a syringe, directly over or into the Hydra. Be sure to change the water after that...

currently my tank got a lot of hydra, which is a threat to my shrimplets.
i keep only CRS and cherry shrimps.
i've got a few options:
put gourami --eat hydra but also my shrimp
put clown loach --may eat hydra but also my shrimp as well
chemicals --may kill the shrimps together.
which poison should i take ar..
please advise, bros...

Very expensive lesson if you are not familiar with Seachem Excel. My take, scope out all your shrimps into another tank.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
i salt dosed my whole tank the last time i had a hydra outbreak... removed all my fish.... added alot of salt into the tank.. say them drop off and die before my eyes.... thank God i had cheap plants that time...
If I were a fish, I'd BREED all Day!
