I dont have problems with holes in the older leaves. I keep my substrate really rich, adding stick fertilisers frequently.

Also I am dosing on the high side with EI as a guide.
Lastly, the tank receive quite a bit of morning sun , from 7 30am right up to about 11 am.
Perhaps the sunlight acts as a natural trigger.

    hello,

Do not cut away the flower even when it stops blooming because it might self-pollinate then become a fruit and set seed. Let it curl under water and see what happens next.

My water lily flower took about a month to set seed.

Please try this out and let us know if it set seed.

Wowww.. very nice.. How long is the leaves? Mine (Red BL) doesn't grow optimally like yours. The leaves are not very shiny and grow very slow.

    Tank spec :
    - 2500L,
    - natural sunlight,
    - temp 24C,
    - kH 4 gH 5 pH 7 NO3 20ppm
    - media : potted soil + silica sand
    - water change 24 hr

Your leaves do not look healthy. Probably it is still stunt or need to adapt that environment . Initially I had 3 red + 3 green, but all the red did not last long. The green one took months to stabilize , very often the stem of leaf will come loose. Now the green leaves grow really long and fat.

I am using EI method under MH.

    Hi,
sorry, I am not very familar with this plant, but I remember it being of the tall range? How tall on avg is your plant? And how long a spike does it send up?
While on the topic, can I ask where, besides those farmway places like Teo's, can I get this plant?
    thanks

The leaves are as long as 2 feet for my plant, the spike is up to 1.5 feet, which is the height of my tank. Availability of this plant is , well unpredictable, I do see it at other LFS, Colourful(at Thomson, next to NA) and Ecoculture are some of them.
