    Good foreground plant recommendation

    Hello,

I've got bare gravel at front of tank. In the fore to mid ground area, I've got a cluster of plant that is badly infested with algae. Will be pulling them out tomorrow. So, that would leave an even bigger patch of empty space in the fore to mid ground area.

I inject CO2 and has got pretty good light coverage in the tank. I've given up on riccia and would like to know whether there's any good foreground plant other than glosso. Simon has given me some tenellus but will be using them in my 2 feet tank. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Finally, I'll be going to fish farms tomorrow and would like to know which of the farm has got the best selection of aquatic plants.

    Thanks,
    Roy

P.S. Simon, call me if you're interested in going to farms. Check your e-mail or pm for my number.

Folks, disregard this thread. Got my foreground from Toh or was it Teo in LCK.

Simon, thanks for bringing Vincent and I around. It was an eye-opener. Tempted so often but constraint by space availability []

Btw, planting the glosso was really a pain.

I'm looking for a suitable foreground plants too. My glosso did well initially but when I had the bba problem (balls of wool-like alage), I introduced other algae control plants and use a hand pump to wash the gravel in the foreground (i added fertilizer sticks earlier), the glosso now seem to retard.

I've seen these short slightly reddish coloured plants sold by Petmart at $5 a pack. Any idea what that is ? Is it demanding ?

Teo : Where is it ?

Ah Pek farm : Still at Pasir Ris Farmway 2 ?

    Thanks brudder.

Correct me if I'm wrong - most reddish plants are demanding. I would think so and kinda verified by Chang from NA when I enquired on fertiliser.

Too much iron can contribute to algae.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Simon, you know I'm greener than the plants in your tanks [] So, what's TMG and where do I get it?

Btw, your advise to fertilise my plants was a good one. Noticeable growth on previously slow growing plants. Also, increased lights output too. Now I have 3.8 watts per gallon of lights. Way brighter now than the previous 2.4 watts per gallon.

Question - any difference between pinkish and white lights? Heard from Blk 69 that pinkish lights are better for plants.

    Cheers,
    Roy

Got it! Will get TMG once those that I bought in Bangkok is used up. Btw, the bought in Bangkok fertiliser is made by a shop near weekend market. Can't verify whether it's good or not.

As for lights, the pink lights look terrible by itself but not a problem when used in conjunction with other white lights.
