Hi Tormentz,
Welcome to Aquatic Quotient, what substrate you are using now?
How long has the tank been up?
Hi all,
Recently both peppered cory in my tank have a bubble like growth on the tip of their snout. The bubble is translucent and i do not see this on the other corys which i have in my tank. The bubble seems to burst but than appear back again after a day or 2.
Could anybody tell what should i do about this growth and if it is harmful?

Hi Michael, i am currently using lapis sand. Recently changed from a 1 ft tank to a 2 ft tank for less than 3 weeks. The peppered corys came from different batches, one have been in my old tank for around 6 mths and the other one probably around 2 mths.
Add some aquarium salt, the growth should go away in 2-3 days. Try oxycure, quite effective. If it does not cure in 1 week, use Tetra Medica( hands, foot and mouth ) just joking mouth, fin and tail rot medication. Be careful, this will stain silicon blue. Your tank cycle probably haven't settled down yet, just do your usual weekly and fortnight water change. Conditions should be better after 1 month, then start to add more fishes if you so desire.

thanks~ will give it a try

The growth does not seems similar to the gas bubble disease and the "bubble" have subsided almost totally. However, the peppered cory seems to be behaving rather strangely.
It swims around more often than it use to and even to top and mid level when it used to stay only at the bottom. I have even seen it swim upside down on the surface to feed which gave me a fright before it happily flips back and resumes it's normal swimming.
Also, it has problem "planting" itself at the same spot. Whenever it stays in one place, i can see it sort of slide backwards as if it's pushed by the "currents" in the tank before it swims after a few seconds to get back to the same spot it was resting in.

Most of my catfish behaves like that.

Today the peppered cory is floating around on it's side on the surface of tank, thought that it was dead before it moved as i was gona net it out. I think it is likely to be the swim bladder disease, coz it simply floats to the surface whenever it is not swimming.

Probably so.
