Is the "disease away" from ocean free Potassium Permanganate?

Do you guys use it, Potassium Permanganate? I only use it to disinfect my tanks and nets. Had read some articles that say it can be effective against all disease if use properly.

I use pottassium permanganate for disinfecting nets, fin rot and body rot.
I mix potassium permanganate till the water is slightly pinkish...like Ribena.

Some fish shop do sell the crystal form. You have to throw a few crystal in water and use the solution but they sell quite expensive. Pharmacies should have the crystals from sale too. For me I only used the ocean free one, should be Potassium Permanganate, it looks the same to me but they never state on the bottle, just said its some new formula from Germany.

kmno4 is a very strong oxidising agent and will stain hands purple
if you're just out to sterilise equipment, might i suggest using hydrogen peroxide instead?
if you do get your hands stained, some hypo (or antichlorine) will remove the discoloration

kmno4 and h202 serve pretty much the same purpose, yes
iirc kmno4 is a stronger oxidising agent
the reason why it's not used for bleaching hair is it stains things purple

    hey fox

using it to cure fish dieases is the ultimate last resort coz executing PP treatment has to be accurate and timing precise as it will be a dip treatment.....using PP will also send the stress level of the fish over the top as its got something to do with PP reacting with the gill filaments.........

I got mine from the pharmacy. Any drugstore should carry the PP solution for wound disinfection (< $2). You need to check the strength though to see if it is suitable for direct treatment on fish (apart from disinfecting purposes).

I have previously asked if Ocean Free's purplish solution for flukes n ext parasites is a pp solution mixture. I haven't got my answers yet.
