got a picture, even blurry one might help.
Hello reader...
I bought 2 fishes, called 'peaceful fighting fish' from C328.. each for $3.
It's not colourful like the typical betta fishes. Its color is brown with black strips. It's very nice.
Althought they are fighting fish, they are not the fighting type. When put together, they can live together.
I need to ID this fish as i throw flakes, frozen bloodworms, they didn't eat.
It had been about 1week. i'm afraid that they might die in another 2weeks if they don't eat.
It would be helpful for me if you could provide me a link of what food to feed them and their kind of environment.
Thanks a lot,
Alvin

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Really sorry. i don't have picture of the fish..
It's a very distinct fighting fish [peaceful]
It's brown and black strips. No other betta has this colour - so dull.
You get what i meant?
I used to come across this fish but i forgot. Ahhhh
Alvin
you are making it too difficult for us to help you. I thought your hobby is taking tank pic?
maybe you are right, its not even a betta at all. btw do you know how many species of betta are out there?

Could be acrostomma?
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

However, my fish, upon closer look, it has a sharper and narrower head part rather than the link's picture.
Ahhh.... here.... i found another site, exactly the same as mine!
But supersize... mine is only about 1-2cm..

I got really confused when you said it was so beautiful with the brown stripes. If you like fairly peaceful betta that are small in size, I suggest you have a look at the wine-red group of betta e.g. B. brownorum or B. coccina.

i doubt its macrosotmma.. at $3... i would buy 100 of them
Scot worm, the last time auntie sell a pair of macrostomma, it was retailing at $198/-. Which is about 90+ per fish. Google the image for sparkling gourami and see if it's the fish. The only betta I saw going for 3 bucks is Cocinna.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
Doesn't really matter what fish it is, just provide plenty of plant cover for them and some life food like daphnias and tubifex worms and throw in a ketapang leaf. Leave them alone for a few days comming close to the tank only to feed them.
only a 100? I thought you'd wipe the shop cleanOriginally Posted by ranmasatome

Wow, big macs at 3 bucks! Means cost is even lower! If it is at that price it would all end up with me man, i would definitely take all! Mini macs probably??
Anyway, auntie do have some Sphaerichthys acrostoma yes.

alright in order not to disrupt scotworm's thread I have split off to a new thread, just for the fun of betting on what fish he has…
