Saw these transparent fish in those small CRS and betta tanks of C328 this evening. Some of them has long fins and looks like very miniature form of diamond travelly (open water pelagic).

Should add mystic to my tank but I want to know more before commit.
Can anyone tell me the scientific name of this fish? If can provide more details like origin, pH, food preference, etc, I will appreciate.

    Thanks.

    Ahhh. anglers in our midst!

Diamond trevally are excellent steamed if they are smaller so shouldn't be smelly leh.

They're clean fighters who won't run to the closest structure around, surely one of my favourite game.
    Warm regards,

Isn't Chanda filamentosa a brackish water fish?

Probably you caught the Ikan KekKek when fished from local jetties. When handled, it oozes a profuse amount of slime, and is very slippery.

KekKek's great tasting when cooked in a hot and sweet pineapple curry. When in season, they're fat with roe or milt which my mom calls its "bau". I used to think it tastes rather nice, till I found out that this Bau is really the fish's sperm.

steam with ginger and tomato slices with spring onions and a slated plum.
confirm no smell... unless you cleaned the gut incorrectly.
