    thought I try something different, but after photographing them, realised I shouldn't be doing in at night. My mom just acquire a few pots of wild orchids, but the only acceptible pics is from a hybrid strain. will try again, but I think should consider a light box for better illumination

    I think you WB is utterly screwed.
    why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    thats probably why background is brown brown and flower is yellowish?

    nope, I didn't use the same transparency settings for both, the background is indeed brown and the petal is yellowish, the first pix is correct, I overdid the 2nd ;P

    well at least one of the WB is off since the two got different colours. why is it shutterspeed at 10s and flash was fired?

    both taken at different angles, so my guess is the bulb might have screw up the WB, as for the flash ;P, didn't off it

    this is much better, although it might be better if you bring it downstairs, set it 5ft in front of a bush and reshoot.

    you should get those WB cards
