    hi guys,

how do u guys maintain a fully mossed tank??

curently i am having a 4 ft moss setup, doing ok... the qns is it seems tat the older mosses are turning brown.

do i need to trim the moss so tat the inner moss will not rot ??how long can i do w/o trimming ??

i am thinking of revamping the whole tank, taking every driftwood out to retie the moss is it adviceable cos i got lots of baby shrimps inside too. definitely going to loose some of those if i tak everything out and redo again.

or is it adviceable to trim the moss so that the inner moss can regrow again??

    rgds,
    ahwei

Mosses grow like weeds so just trim them to your desire, like a hair cut. Scoop them with a net but will be messy.

I used to pull them out in other to thin them out, but sometimes it's a hassle. So I switched to cutting them there after.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

taiwan moss, i find that they will unroot itself from the wood/object you initially tied to when they matured. they unexposed part from lights will turn brown.
and to maintain them once they matured (i mean when they grown thick) by pulling strain by strain, will easily remove the entire bunch.

ahwei, you'll probably need to tie your moss more with fishing line onto your DW or you can use netting. Moss will not root to the DW. Cut/trim your moss regularly too, it will do help to reduce the chance of rotting
