    Hi all,

By popular request, we have configured vBulletin to allow thread starters to close their own threads in the Marketplace and Merchant Ads forums. This is to allow members to close their threads once their transaction is completed.

    Regards,
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.

I must not be smart because I don't know how to close the thread I've started. Can you tell me how to?

Ehhh... you act dumb, I treat you dumb, K?

You should see "Thread Tools" in the menu bar immediately above the first post of each page of a thread.
    1. Click on that (make sure the page is fully loaded first) and a dropdown menu will errr... drop down.
    2. Select "Close Thread" (if it is not already selected).
    3. Click "Perform Action".

Ok, now you are vBulletin-smarter by a little bit.

Alright.. I must be really dumb..

    I went to the marketplace thread of mine re. chiller that I have already sold and under the 'thread tool', there are only 3 options in my pull-down-menu;
    - Show printable version
    - Email this page
    - unsubscribe from this thread.

Is this new feature effective only for new buy-&-sell thread after your effective date? Or is there somewhere I must check some boxes for me to have that feature?

Hmmm... you should be able to see it. I did test it... I think I know why already. Try again in 5 mins.

I have performed a "close thread" on an ad yesterday but how come I can still see it today. Can others see it as well?

I did the same & I guess 'close thread' means locking it so that no more entry can be made to it.

Yes, close thread means lock thread. It will not be deleted. However, once it exceeds 14 days without activity, it will not be listed automatically though it still resides in the database.
