I think the best guppies are from hobbyists. Try Guppy club sg.
I intend to rear guppy(ies?) in my planted tank. I was advised by a LFS that salt needs to be added in order to ensure survivability. I have the following queries:
a. Is it table salt or those used for cooking?
b. How much to add in a 4x2x2 tank?
c. Will the salt affect my Yamatoes, Rams and Cardinals?
Lastly, where can I get quality guppy? It seems most LFS have those "feeder" type only. Thanks.

Good guppy stocks are indeed hard to come by in Singapore. Try to get in touch with the guppy club as suggested by Cacatuoides.
As for salt, it helps, especially when you are breeding them. But if you are keeping them in your planted community tank. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Your yamatoes wouldn't like too much salt in the water due to the osmosis they go through... I see my expired yamatos turning into tomatoes during my ich treatment with salt...
