    Hi

My BL red is growing. but sometimes, new leaves and established leaves seem to break off (or shed) and floats up..

Is this due to nutrient deficiency? my vialis also seems to be rather pale in color even though the runners are still continuing to do well...

Tank Size: 2 ft Juwel tank
    Fert Dosage: weekly S7, PGold,
    Biweekly V30....

    CO2 : 1bps
Light: about 8 hours... low intensity as Juwel tank does not allow other lights to be fitted into hood..

    Fauna: aphistos and rams
Flora:vialis and BL red, spiky and fissiden moss...

I do have a similar issue with my barclya until I doped in Ferka rosetta capsules and most of my crypts stopped melting anymore.

i cant rem the wattage of the lights.. i think's about 18W... i know it's rather low.. but in the previous scape I had... even with these low wattage, plant growth was great... but that time, plants were different such as mainly crypto balanse, wendi and so forth....

    Zhan,

not sure what you mean... the capsules solved your prob for the barclay or the cryptos?

If you are using Juwel Rekord 60, you are probably having a 15W light in there. That's is really on the low side... about 1 W/gal. Need to consider some way to increase the lighting at least by another 15W. You might want to add a reflector to the light if yours does not come with that.

My take in order of possibility:
    1. Light
    2. N deficiency
    3. K deficiency

If you dose to the water, plants can grow relatively well without base fertilisers.

I don't think there is any N in Dennerle fertilisers, at least, they did not say it does.

There may be some K in E15.

    Use Ferka Rosette tabs...
You will notice a difference... My crypts exploded with them... Barclaya should have the same effect since they are heavy root feeders as well...

    Hi

I was recommended Root monster by Ocean Free. Does that have the same effect as well?

The irritating thing about Root Monster is when you do rescaping and pull up plants, you will see the yellow stuff all coming up together... Shows how "good" the Root monster is keeping its shape as advertised on the packaging...

But if you don't mind the messy-ness, guess RM is good...
