Me i will miss them if they go extinct cos then Singapore wld not be Singapore!
look around and every step you take there are alien.... species..... the Javan white-vented mynah, the Indian house crow, the Eurasian house sparrow, rock pigeons (Africa), cattle egrets ..... how many folks have actually seen the magpie-robin, a pretty, perky songbird that used to the most common bird in Singapore before the war??? (and now nearly extinct) What about that crimson sunbird (national bird some more!!!)?
moving on to fishy fauna, the South Americans (guppies, plecos, pacus, peacock bass, discus, platies, mollies, red-tail cats) and Africans (tilapia) and weirder aliens not found anywhere (naturally) on earth [you know what I am talking about) abound in the waters here....
I wonder who will miss those "lousy little longkang he" (actual comment at LFS) like tiger barbs, rasboras, croaking gouramis, licorice gouramis, dwarf snakeheads, knight gobies, bumbleebees, rice fish and halfbeaks???
