    Thanks for the link.
I have already visited that website and read a few pages.
Although Tropica has a very complete directory of plants, they always use scientific names, got me all confused.
Any other websites that has both common and scientific names for comparison.

Scientific names have the advantage in that they are precise and universal. Common names will differ vastly depending on the user's language, country, personal lingo... etc... thus, any one species could well have several common names, and worse, share these common names with other similar species. It's a bit hard initially, but visit the Tropica gallery and also the AQ gallery (http://www.aquaticquotient.com/gallery/index.php) often and the terms will soon grow on you...

But when it comes to plants, there really isn't much common names to talk about...

Off hair, I can only think of a few like hairgrass and APP... The rest like Rotala, Ludwigia, Crypt, Echinodurus... We have been using some sort of the scientific name...

Which are the ones are you blur about? If you see any plants in Tropica and want to know common names if any, let us know... But then, different people knows the plants in different common names... Then you will see the problem...

and guess who invented APP, not to mention Christmas moss and Singapore moss?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

user: to answer your query, you can try http://www.dennerle.de/en/HG05UG01.htm Dennerle has common and scientific names.

But the common names may not be useful as some LFS or local farms may even use Chinese trade names. Teo Plant Farm uses Hokkien names.
