On the contrary, the loading speed for me is so much faster on a SCV line and also the problems that I used to have no longer exists... Only that can't get into gallery...
Forget to mention, I also find AQ loads alot slower after the upgrade.

Made some adjustments. Should be better now.
Those unable to view the main gallery page, please show me screenshot of the error.

OK; here's what I've observed. I don't have problems accessing AQ when I'm using my SCV Maxonline connection at home.
I spend a lot of time at Macdonalds surfing on the free wireless Internet, and connection is quite variable when I'm using this. It varies throughout the day without any consistent time frames as far as I've observed, but I seem to have slightly worse luck in the mornings.
I'm aware that free wireless Internet access is always variable yes, but this observation is vis-a-vis other sites (e.g. Google) I can access just fine at the same time.
Errr... look at a Google page and look at a typical vBulletin page. Google pages are a lot simpler and a lot lighter and probably a lot faster. Google has the $ muscle to run many many many more (read nothing AQ can ever remotely afford) servers.
What's the difference between say AQ (virtual private server), AroFanatics (dedicated server), PetFrd (?) and ClubSnap (dedicated, with up to 900 members logged on at a time)? That will be a better comparison.
Frankly, AQ is at the border of breaking our server resources... hence the tweaking in recent weeks/months.

Fair enough. On a typical morning, I also access Clubsnap, Arofanatics, and HWZ. I don't get access problems on all of these sites, including AQ, on a home Maxonline connection. However, on the free Macdonalds wireless access, it seems of the lot, AQ occasionally comes up with site not found erroes.
Hmmm... site not found is a strange error. It means that somehow Mac's ISP cannot find AQ server.
Does not imply that our server is slow. If the server serves up pages fast on MaxOnline, it means the server is fast enough.
Unless the server is so bogged down that it cannot even respond to the page request. Hmmm... do me a favor? Each time you get this error at Mac's, PM me with the time and error message. Then I can check against the server logs.
Oh, and do you access AQ from home and Mac's at around the same time? Or is there case where you access from home fine and shortly after at Mac's you get problems?

Could it be caching on Maxonline's part, since with such a large provider those pages could be really frequently accessed already in the area; compared to Macdonald's free access.
KK - will pmail if it comes up again. It looks clear now though (I'm still at Macs right this moment - been here for the last 5 hours now), but at around 9 to 10 a.m. this morning there were a few such site not found messages.
Even if it's not cached, the error should not be site not found. At worst, it should be "site is taking too long to respond". Finding the server is really fast.

Now that you've mentioned it, it could had been a site is taking too long to respond rather than a site not found message. I didn't pay attention to the message; I'll take a closer look at it the next time I'm here in the mornings.
I have error 504 messages...
Refreshing about a few minutes later usually solves the problem though...

I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii
Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...
It could be due to caching of DNS server?
Btw, the problem of the not able to access gallery is solved for my case... Loading pretty fast... Even in office where there is a very slow proxy (and dunno how many firewalls) blocking all outgoing and incoming stuff...
Okie, so now I wonder if Justin can see Gallery main page.

Same here. I have been having problem accessing AQ in the past few days. Most recent being last night.
Guys, I need to know what kind of errors you are getting, else I can't figure out what's wrong. Just cut and paste the text of error messages that you see.
