The nano tank is about one feet. The bottom layer is garden soil capped with aquasoil. It was set up quite some time ago with only two mosquito fish and hornworts taking over the tank.

It was intended to keep singapore moss when I came across an article about harvesting land singapore moss from around the park and growing them inside the tank. I decided to go into the forested area to find myself some moss where areas has been flooded.

I came across hundreds of these little frogs.

The moss I was looking for & nice dead leaves to bring home too.

While on my way out I found a dead turtle shell, it was an Asian box turtle not too sure exactly what species but it seems like it was killed cause I saw a hole in the back of the shell or idk.

    Back home

I soaked and cleaned them before tying onto the driftwood and added to my tank. Sorry that I don't take pictures step by step but I will learn to make it a habit.

Here is the tank now with a couple of other plants and shrimps.

The Singapore moss tied on driftwoods.

Riccia seems to be doing well.

And the shrimps seems happy too.

Thank you for reading and I apologize if it's really unorganized, this is my first post.

Anyway, what do you do with the dead leaves? Are you not afraid of pests that might hitchhike with the moss?

Search up Indian almond leaves. I soak the moss for a day first usually it's recommended to soak in for a week or two but so far everything is in the clear but I'll still have to observe.

Oops didn't see this posted in your main post was too sleepy! How long before you start adding your first shrimps? You tested your water parameters?

Hmm....interesting. I didn't know Singapore moss can be harvest so easily. Will look out for this next time...any specific location to find the moss? Besides stream where the area flooded?

No I barely do any tests, I just make sure it's running for many weeks with hornworts before adding livestock.

Becareful not to put it straight into your tank, you might want to clean it then soak it for awhile before adding to your tank.
