Are you able to get Potassium Nitrate now? I thought this chemical is controlled by SCDF.

My tank is 3x2x2 am I right to say that the dosing is only basing on the water volume instead of the tank water as my water level is around 5 inches from the top of the tank.

Btw, what it means by ppm and how do I know if I am dosing correct and get a 30 ppm weekly.

Lastly, will there it any drastic effect if I overdose so is it better to dose much lesser than recommended at least the plants got some nutrients rather than nothing.

Yes, you should dose based on water volume.

PPM is basically parts per million, a measure of the concentration. With EI, as long as you keep up with the water changes, and dose correctly, you can be sure your plants are getting the required amount of ferts while not causing the fert levels to accumulate dangerously high. So long you stick to the water changes, you won't overdose.

Drastic effects will depend on your setup, if you plant heavily at the start and have good CO2 and water flow, overdosing will result in nothing other than wastage. Under-dosing might trigger an algae bloom.

Re: What is KNO3 and KH2PO4?

    hi guys

if dosing CaNo3 constantly, will it raise gh considerably over the long run due to calcium content?

or will weekly 50% water change will reset it?

really want to know as i am considering dry fert soon.
