    assume 4x2x2 biggest size

assume you just keep an adult red terror

assume very simple layout, relatively bare,no plant

    2217 from Classic series, 170-180$
(+) cheaper, yet good capacity and flowrate. Time-proven design= simple, efficient.
(-) dont come with more recent accessories like priming aids and even valves.

2028 from Pro II series, should be ard 290$ now
(+) you get what you pay for. Biggest of the 3 here, priming aid and valves as standard
(-) are you willing to pay so much just for a single fish?

2026 from Pro II series. not sure....memory tells me abt 240$
    it is something in between
More expensive than 2217, but at the same time smaller capacity too. Are you willing to pay the extra for the small conveniences?

my opinion, 2217 suits a simple setup. Economically is more justifiable yet provides for the capacity you need.
If for a simple tank, i dont even use valves. I just remove the entire thing with hose and pipe and all and bring to the toilet and wash. Priming is too simple for me to need priming aid. (anyway you have to carry the entire canister to wash too..there is no extra weight)

if you want Pro II series, you have to make a decision between cost and capacity. there is a tradeoff between 2028 and 2026

I'll be having two 4ft tank just one above the other. The one on top will be used to house one fish whil the one below will be devided into two to house 2 fishes.Guess i need to do some pipeing(if there is any other ways pls advice).

I'll have tiny red gravels as the base about 1 inch high and also love to include some rocks to beautify the tank.

    And what is a powerhead?[:]

the below tank, you can still just use one canister filter

the divider, drill the holes as big as you can.
this is to maximise circulation thru the both sides.

the filter, inlet hook it on one side of the divider, outlet on the other. the water will get "pulled thru" across the entire tank across the divider. so how well the circulation the tank has is important .
