there are a few of us keeping them.. killifishes are usually very beautiful and most of them are annual fishes.. meaning lifespan of 1 yr.. some of them can grow up to 5 yrs.. for eg, orange lyretail... the price range is from 8-12... but i do suggest u doing some reading up on them b4 keeping them.. coz they are ex and u had better learn how to breed them, if not, very siong on the pocket.. hahaha[]

killifishes have rather short lives but they do well in species tank. they usually require acidic waters to breed and live. species from Africa commonly seen for sale in Singapore are the Nothobranchius and Aphyosemion species. they are beautiful fishes with iridescent colours but this applies to the males only in some species. in most of the species, the females are very plain-looking and therefore usually not available for sale. most LFS that sell them only have males for sale so getting a pair may be rather difficult. they will spawn in a peat substrate or something similar. once the pair have spawned, remove the peat substrate containing the eggs and keep them in a sealed plastic bag or container in a safe place for several weeks. once u've prepared to raise them again, immerse the peat containing the eggs in a tank of water. keep it slightly warm and aerated. the eggs should hatch soon and the fry are quite large to begin with. thats how much i know about killifish. hope it helps. []

    regards,

P.S. : there's lots of resources online on how to keep and breed killifish. try www.killi.net[]
