    Hi all ..

    Did I hear it wrongly??!?!

Anyone heard it over the radio (Channel 93 that blue/green algae is fit for consumption?

Didn't manage to listen it properly but I thought I heard something like it's rich is "something" and you can mix it with fruit juice or plain water..

I even heard words like "fish tank/algae/bacteria" etc .... so it's definitely blue/green algae....

The spirulina which is sold as tablets comes from a species of cultivated blue-green algae, while Chlorella (also sold as a pill supplement) comes from a species of green algae. I highly doubt they are the same species as those found in fish tanks.

The seaweed and agar we eat also come from algae.
