Low maintenance background plants?

Hi,
Any recommendations for background plants? I have a 4ft, low-light, low-CO2. I have mainly nana and crypts. My background is kind of bare.

Crytocoryne balansae,
Criniums,
medium to large (not the "hugemongous" ones) Echinodoruses,
Bolbitis,
java ferns on large driftwood,
java fern wall,
narrow leaf java fern,
red tiger lotus (possible, depending on how low is low light)

Hi Vincent,
I have 2 bunches of Balansae, these are growing well and slow.
On the narrow leaf java that you suggested, do they grow tall from the gravel or do I need to tie them to wood?

I am interested in the Balansae, tall ones (12-15 inches) if you know where to get, can you let me know?

Narrow leaf frond can get to 1 foot or longer. Tie to wood to raise them up a little.

Ok, Narrow leave Java can grow up to 12". Where can I get these?

Try jungle vallisneria (vallisneria gigantea). They can thrife well enough under low tech tank. The plant will crease and even melt at first, and it would take some time to root in. Given a few weeks it will start to take off and send out runners, creating a thick background up to the water surface. Val need very little maintenance, in fact almost none is necessary. You can always cut back leaves that grow too long and some will crease and new leaves growing out to replace. If jungle val is too much for you, then other shorter and smaller kind of vals will be the right one for you such as corkscrew and americana.

I have had val before, don't know what are they, but they just grew and grew! I finally gave up as I spent most weekends trimming them.

Do you know where can I get the type of Val that you were talking about that is slow growing and does not demand much lights?
