From the tenses used, can we assume that you have won, are is winning the battle against BBA and other algae?
Hi guys,
I have a nano 1 foot tank, which had a serious black brush and green brush algae infestation sometime ago, it was all over my driftwood and glosso, and some parts of my gravel. These are the ways in which I 'treated' the bba infestation according to some of the postings here.
1) 1 month ago, I got a proper co2 supply (I previously was using DIY), switched CO2 to 30 ppm (which is about 1-3 bps).
2) Add some stem plants.
2) Increased light intensity from 2.5 wpg to 4 wpg.
3) Reduced lighting duration from 14 hrs to 12 hrs
4) Change 20% water weekly.
5) Buy some shrimps (it was a shrimp tank anyway). I have noticed that malayan shrimps 'eat' the green brush algae.
6) Add a siamese algae eater.
7) Remove infested leaves.
Boil or scald infested rocks.
9) Buy seachem excel, and using a syringe, 'inject' it on the infested parts.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
It's in remission, since technically I have 'bba' still present. But condition is not as bad as before.
